Kalton Hotel

We were just looking for somewhere to crash for one night after our boat trip before heading to the airport in the morning. It doesn’t look like much and is a bit further out of the centre but that didn’t matter. The room was spacious, clean, bed was big and comfy, AC worked well and we had a really great sleep with no bugs in sight so no complaints!! One thing to note is we booked this place after seeing reviews that they offered a free drop off at the airport however they told us this service cost 70k IDR, seemingly the standard price to/from the airport. This place was expensive in comparison to a lot of the places we have stayed across Indonesia but it seems you have to pay a bit more in Labuan Bajo to be comfortable and secure so it was worth it. We’d highly recommend the pizza place down the road called “Fella’s”, one of the best and cheapest pizzas we have ever had and perfect comfort food after a few days island hopping !

We had a really lovely stay at the Kalton. Our king room was really spacious with plenty of space to hang/store belongings and the bed was really comfortable (it was nice to have two pillows each). The bathroom was spacious and clean and shower was hot and powerful. They let us take a kettle and coffee cups up to our room which was nice. Also appreciated the water cooler in the lobby. The staff were really nice and the free airport pick-up was much appreciated (we paid 70k for airport drop off). We didn’t mind the walk to the centre at all - it was around 10 minutes and there are plenty of shops very near the hotel too.

pros: location is just within walking distance from the city center, but a bit out of the way from the pier. AC works, as well as hot water. WiFi also works although you have to ask for new password every day. bed was comfy, we also like the cleanliness of the hotel

Large room with a big comfortable bed. Nice and clean. 2 bottles of water replaced every day, unlike a lot of places. Good soundproofed rooms with a large walk in shower. Well priced with good strength wifi. Aircon is satisfactory, could be colder and more powerful, but then again most places seem to be the same. Staff are friendly and helpful. A bonus, the airport pick up and drop off is free. Which is a nice touch. The hotel is only about 10 minutes or so from the airport. A bit further out of town than some other places, but I liked that, it was quieter. Only a 15-20 minute walk into the centre of town and a Mini Market only 5 minute walk for water, snacks, etc.
